How much guava for your cat?

Diarrhoea and stomach upset from the combination of sugar and fibre — guava is unusually fibrous. Larger amounts also mean a meaningful sugar load for a small dog.
How to serve it safely
Peel it, remove the hard central seeds where you can, and cut the flesh into small pieces. The seeds of some varieties are hard enough to crack a tooth and are difficult to digest, so a seedless variety or careful preparation is worth the trouble. Skip guava paste and juice, both of which are heavily sweetened.
